Tripoli - Emad Agag

A political member of Libya’s ruling National Transitional Council (NTC) in Kufra (about 1200km from the Libyan capital, Tripoli), Ezzeddin Ahlil, said that hundreds of families had fled the town to neighbouring cities due to the clashes and airstrikes that took place on Tuesday morning. Ahlil said that clashes had renewed between government forces and  fighters from the Toubou tribe in the city\'s  Dakhiliya Street which resulted in the death of a civilian and injured dozens of people. He said the true number of casualties was unknown due the inaccesibility of the groups. \"A large force of the group affiliated to the Toubou tribe gathered in the eastern entrance of the city, preventing the entry of supplies, whether military or medical,\" he said. Ahlil called on the NTC and Libya\'s defence minister, interior minister and military chief-of-staff to intervene in order to \"stop the bloodshed in the region and protect the families in the city\".
