An unidentified assailant on a motorbike threw a bomb at the residence of Lebanon\'s Minister of public works and transportation Ghazi Aridi, security sources have informed Arabstoday. The attack, which took place Sunday morning, occurred in the Bayssour province (34km south east of Beirut). The report stated that it resulted in physical losses only causing a small five-cm deep hole in the floor. Police have begun an official investigation. The town, which has a majority Druze population, has been known to witness clashes from time to time. Meanwhile, unknown robbers attempted to steal the car of former minister Jean Oghassabian, an MP from Lebanon\'s Future party, in el- Hazmeih near Monir Zidan Street, east Beirut. The security report said that two unknown men apparently in their thirties on 3 am Sunday morning drove a black Kia Rio car and stopped in front of Oghassabian. The MP was walking towards his black Chevrolet in the outdoors parking to the building where he lived. One of the robbers then exclaimed \"This is the car we want!\" but fled after guards started approaching them. Oghassabian said: \"They failed because the police happened to pass by at the same time...there were no shots fired though.\"
