Gaza - Kamal Yazigi
Palestinian Legislative Council member Mohammad Dahlan described Fatah's decision to expel Revolutionary Council member Samir Mashharawi as “expected”. "The decision to expel Samir Mashharawi is only an expected action from people who have lost their loyalty to the movement, and they desire to destroy it to cover for their political and domestic failure.” Dahlan said, on his Facebook page, Monday, "Someone once said, if the war fought by Abu Mazen against me (Dahlan) was against Israel, Palestine would have been liberated twice, prisoners would have been released and refugees would have returned." Dahlan added. Dahlan’s dispute with Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas adds a new crisis of the movement, which has suffered many internal divisions. Some Fatah members told Safa News Agency of West Bank leadership's plans to to marginalise the organisation's presence in Gaza, "after it was the centre of the decision.” They said that Dahlan's aides who worked under Mashharaw were likely to face the same fate.
