British authorities have delayed the trial of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Palestine until Friday, due to the absence of a judge with the authority to examine his case. Salah, who has been detained in London for more than a week after being accused of anti-Semitism, was visited by his lawyer in Bedford prison after permission was given by the British authorities. The lawyers who met with Salah said that the visit lasted for more than two hours, and was unrestricted. On his visit to London, the official spokesman of the Islamic Movement said that the lawyer Zahi Nujeidat, and the member of the defense team for Sheikh Salah, are optimistic about the arrest file, adding that if the Sheikh had to comply with British orders, he could return to the country at any given moment. The spokesman also pointed out that Salah has decided to face the “injustice” that has been pitted against him, stating that it is not only injustice against him as a person, but against the ideas and beliefs that he holds.
