The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the fifth Arab Housing Conference in December 2018.
The Arab Ministers’ Council today convened for 34th session in the City of Rabat Morocco and endorse the conference, which will be held in Manama next year under the theme “Future Role of the Public Sector in Social Housing”.
Addressing the meeting, Housing Minister Basim bin Yacoub Al-Hamer expressed Bahrain’s honour at host the 5th conference and the 35th Arab council meeting.
He stressed the importance of the 2018 conference, which aims at charting the future role of the Government-funded sector in promoting social housing.
The planned conference will also highlight the opportunities which are provided for of the private sector to play a crucial role in developing the vital housing sector and ensuring its sustainability.
He underlined Bahrain’s drive to allow the private sector to assume a bigger role in promoting social housing for citizens through a string of initiatives which were first launched in 2012.
