Algerian presidency announced, Thursday, the fourth of the next May as date for the eighth parliamentary elections. Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, signed a decree calling voters, on the fourth of May, to elect members of the National People's Assembly. Article 25 of the election law provides to form the election commission within the three months preceding the date of the elections, Algerian presidential statement said.
The presidential statement explain that the decree identified the period between 8 and February 22, 2017 for the special review of the electoral lists, which are organized by the Ministry of Interior, under the supervision of the Independent Electoral Commission to monitor the elections.
The number of voters estimated at 22.880.678 citizen, including 12.418.468 men and 10.462.210 women, according to the special review of the electoral lists, which were conducted during the period between January 23 and the sixth of February 2014.
