An Afghan journalist was killed on Wednesday following a roadside bomb blast in southern Helmand province, according to local authorities. Greshk district security chief Gen. Kali Khan confirming the report said Abdul Hadi Hamdard a reporter of local state Radio and Television was killed after his vehicle struck with a roadside bomb in this district. The incident took place at Ab-Bazan area in Greshk district on Wednesday night, Afghan online newspaper (Khaama Press) reported Thursday. Kali Khan further added at least one other was killed and two others were injured following the explosion. This comes as another Afghan reporter Samad Rohani who was working for BBC was killed in southern Greshk district. Violence against reporters in Afghanistan has been rampant during the past 10 years which has sparked tensions in international community. Rights advocates defending the reporters urged all parties involved in Afghan war to prevent journalists casualties in Afghanistan. No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
