President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati Wednesday inaugurated the embassy of Palestine in Beirut, capital of Lebanon. In a speech during the opening ceremony of the Palestinian embassy, Abbas reiterated his stance of the developments of the Palestinian issue and affirmed the Palestinian determination to go to the United Nations in September with the support of Arabs and the liberals worldwide. He stressed his rejection of the resettlement issue, saying the Palestinian leadership will continue its efforts to bring back refugees to Palestine. Thousands of Palestinians gathered in front of the embassy’s headquarters, expressing joy for the inauguration of a Palestinian embassy in Lebanon. They chanted slogans supporting Abbas and waved the Palestinian flags.
