Evangeline Lilly teased her future as the Wasp in a Facebook Q&A this week.
The 36-year-old Canadian actress portrayed Hope van Dyne in Ant-Man, and seemed poised to take up the Wasp mantle at the end of the movie. Fans are hopeful Lilly will play the character in Ant-Man sequels or other Marvel films.
"I was scanned for #TheWasp suit, but then I got pregnant. Let's hope I fit it again! #ineedtime," the star revealed. She confessed she's been "too pregnant" to try on the costume since, but said she keeps "bugging" Marvel about future appearances.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Fandango in July the team has a "super cool idea for the next Ant-Man film" and will find room in the schedule if "audiences want it." He also said he's "sure we'll see various versions" of the Ant-Man and Wasp dynamic in future movies.
Ant-Man opened in theaters July 17, and earned over $337 million at the box office. The film is the last of the studio's "Phase Two" movies, and will be followed by Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange and Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1, among others.
Lilly is best known for portraying Kate Austen on ABC series Lost, and recently played the elf Tauriel in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. She and boyfriend Norman Kali are expecting their second child.
