Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi . Writer Tareq Al Badawi of the new Egyptian television drama “Nousa” is seriously considering stripping Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi from the leading role in the drama and intends on looking for a replacement. The
decision came after Haifa’s popularity decreased tremendously among Egyptians due to the fact that during the revolution that took place in Egypt, which overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak, Haifa had called on people to support the flood victims in Japan and completely forgot about the revolutionist in Egypt. This fact made people in Egypt and across the Arab world criticize her and call for boycotting her.
Tareq added that he decided to give the role to an Egyptian actress instead, which would be more appropriate for the role. In addition, there is a current call taking place in Egypt to all film and television drama makers to choose Egyptian artists for roles instead of foreigners.GMT 10:48 2018 Thursday ,30 August
