Egyptian actress Lekaa Souedan said that the few number of theatres is the major reason behind the theatre crisis in Egypt, saying that they are centered in Cairo downtown. She called the government for establishing new theatres in the new cities, including October city.
She stressed her love to participation in theatrical performances, saying that the theatre is her first priority. She revealed that she is an employee in the National Theatre Authority since her graduation from the university.
Regarding her participation in "Masquerade" play, she said that it was presented six years ago, adding that there was intention to represent it on the national theatre, while the departure of Egyptian actor Nour Al Sherif prevented the idea.
However, she added, Director Hisham Gommaa decided to survive the idea recently, saying she was enthusiastic to participate in it due to the good scenario and the wonderful staff. She added, "I perform a role of a variegated woman who loves five men."
She denied that the performance has any political sides, while it discusses the relation between the ruler and people in different ages generally, focusing on 1930s.
On the other hand, she expressed her pleasure for the success of her recent drama show "Sons of Nine", praising the staff participating in it. She expressed appreciation to Actress Nicole Saba, saying she strongly loves Egypt.
She also praised the role of her husband Khaled Zaki in the series, saying that he is respectful actor. She underlined her frustration over the series presentation on a closed channel as it deprives a big sector of people from following it.
She stressed, "The series presentation is out of my decision, as it is the deciiof producer who has the right to ensure restoring his money." She expressed her aspirations to present films, while she has not found the suitable role.
She added that the cinematic roles presented to her are limited to seduction, saying that she refused to participate in such roles.
