Dubai - Wam

Zulekha Hospital has allocated a AED2 million annual budget as an endowment to provide free medical checkups in for those in need.
The pledge is part of the hospital's participation in the "Global Endowment Vision" adopted by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for the revival of endowment as a developmental tool for communities, and in accordance with the decision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaring 2017 as the '#Year of Giving’.
Zulekha Hospital will now receive the Dubai Endowment Sign from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC), acknowledging it as taking part in the scheme and as such it will receive procurement privileges with the Government of Dubai, as per the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Taher Shams, Managing Director at Zulekha Hospital, said, "Zulekha Hospital’s initiative came in support of the idea of innovative endowment, which is a developmental tool for societies. Our endowment service provides our communities with free medical checkups and examinations, including early detection and prevention of high risk diseases such as cancer," adding that interested parties can contact the hospital to apply for available checkups and consultations.
Dr. Hamad Al Hammady, Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy, said, "Innovation in creating endowment ideas and initiatives is unlimited, and accordingly, to complement health initiatives in collaboration with MBRGCEC, Zulekha Hospital’s contributions will support health services in the UAE."
Al Hammady said that the centre is ready to receive inquiries from all interested individuals and organisations who wish to obtain the Dubai Endowment Sign.
The Dubai Endowment Sign was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as a key initiative of the Global Vision for Awqaf and Endowments, and highlights community participation by providing an opportunity for government and private sector institutions to participate in community service through innovative endowments to aid in the development of communities.
