underprivileged children and elderly people in Sudan received diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and surgical care heart related diseases during a humanitarian mission conducted by the Zayed Giving Initiative, ZGI.
ZGI partnered with the Saudi-German Hospital, Dar Al Ber Society, Emirates Volunteer Centre and Sudan Volunteer Centre to deliver the medical care services.
Dr. Adel Al Shameri, CEO of ZGI, said these services were provided to Sudanese patients free of charge.
''The volunteer physicians ran 30 medical convoys to reach out to different parts of Sudan to treat diseases, including chronic cardiac disorders, diabetes and high blood pressure,'' he added.
Dr. Hisham Al Raida, Head of Sudan Volunteer Centre, thanked the ZGI for its humanitarian work in Sudan and said that Sudanese cardiologists were ready to join the ZGI team of volunteer doctors to advance this noble humanitarian initiative.
An elite group of surgeons, cardiologists and other specialists and volunteers from the Saudi-German Hospital, Dar Al Ber Society, Arab Foundation for Humanitarian Work, Emirates Volunteers Association and other institutions are carrying out the initiative in co-ordination with the Sudanese Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security.
