The Ministry of Health and Prevention, represented by the Primary Health Care Department in Dubai Medical District, launched the Dubai Specialised Dental Centre in Al Hamriya region in Dubai on Thursday.
The centre includes medical services and different sections, such as general dental treatment, and branching specialties that include dental fixtures, dental implants, treatment of the nerve and braces.
Nasser Khalifa Al Budour, the Assistant Under-Secretary of Ministry of Health and Prevention, and Director of the Dubai Medical District, and Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, the Assistant Under-Secretary for the Support Services Sector, cut the traditional ribbon announcing the official launch of the centre.
Dr. Hussain Abdulrahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Prevention for the Health Centres and Clinics Sector, said that the dental services in the ministry have witnessed remarkable development according to the highest standards and medical practices in keeping with the ministry's efforts to upgrade its services to meet the expectations of patients and reviewers.
He said that the centre’s opening had a positive impact on the preventive dental programme and on the safety of patients as part of the ministry's strategy to provide distinguished health services to the UAE community in line with international standards.
Dr. Hussein Al Saleh, Director of Dubai Specialised Dental Centre, said that the centre adopts modern concepts in health and therapeutic services in dentistry, with the highest standards of medical quality as well as medical and administrative competencies to meet the aspirations of the society.
He said, "We are currently working on obtaining the international accreditation certificate and follow the technical requirements so that the centre would obtain this accreditation from international institutions." He added that the centre’s development plan aims to provide training courses for interns and specialists at early next year.
