The Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulatory body of the Healthcare sector at the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced today the launch of “Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award” to recognise and honour professionals in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for their outstanding achievements in the medical field. The award aims to acknowledge professionals who have contributed to the improvement and enhancement of the healthcare system, encourage medical and scientific research, honour voluntary work and promote philanthropy. Dr Jamal Al Kaabi, head, Customer Services and Corporate Communication at HAAD, said: “Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award is launched to recognise the great achievements of the workers in the health care sector and adopt new innovative ideas with the aim to raise the level of scientific competency and quality in the performance of all health professionals.” The award categories include surgical performance, clinical performance, medical research, medical teaching, allied health, health administration and management, clinical diagnostics and laboratory and medical volunteering. Dr Mohammed Bader Al Seiari, director of Health System Compliance and general secretary of Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award, said: “We encourage all healthcare facilities in the Emirate to participate and submit their nominations in various categories.” From / Gulf Today
