The Supreme Council of Health’s public health department and the communication and media department have jointly issued a set of healthy eating tips for residents to observe during the Eid celebrations. According to the council, a sudden switch to an unhealthy eating pattern, having observed fasting for a whole month, could lead to health problems that might spoil the celebrations during Eid and beyond. The council advised avoiding the following unhealthy habits: over-eating during breakfast on Eid day, eating large quantity of foods high in calories, fats and sugars and drinking large quantity of coffee or carbonated beverages with meals.
