A lawmaker has urged the construction of a specialized alcohol and drug rehabilitation hospital in Bahrain. Shura Council Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Chairperson Sawsan Taqawi stressed the importance of incorporating the project in the state budget project, which will be submitted soon to the legislative branch of government.
She hailed the results of the meeting of the National Anti-Narcotics Committee, which convened recently under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa.
"The Health Ministry has estimated the planned medical detoxication rehab facility to average BD 10 million", stressing the urgent need to include the crucial project In the two-year state project.
She commended the official and non-governmental initiatives which are all aimed at combating the scourge of alcoholic and drug addiction, citing particularly Maan "Together" Programme for Fighting Violence and Addiction
