Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi issued a statement today, saying Eman Ahmed Abdul Atti, an Egyptian National, was admitted to the hospital, under the care of Dr. Yassin El Shahat, Chief Medical Officer, and a multi-disciplinary team of 20 doctors including orthopaedic surgeons, cardiologists, nephrologists, gastroenterologist, plastic surgeons , physiotherapists, and dieticians amongst others.
The patient has been under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since her arrival on Thursday night and will be moved to a suite today. She is currently facing several health conditions including cardiac issues (severe aortic regurgitation with query endocarditis), which is still under intensive investigation, severe urosepsis, and third degree infected bed sores. These conditions are beside her original medical problems of obesity and other comorbidities.
The team of doctors at Burjeel Hospital is currently focused on improving her overall health condition and ensuring that as part of the hospital’s short term goal, Eman is able to sit with minimal to no assistance.
The family has requested that her privacy be maintained. Health updates will be provided by the hospital as available, and when approved by the family.
