Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb called on physicians to get acquainted with the values of the medical profession in the Islamic culture that began to disappear recently.
He further said that the doctor should help the poor.
These remarks came during the celebrations of Al Azhar's Medicine Faculty with its golden jubilee.
El Tayyeb lauded the students and the teaching staff for their scientific achievements and humanitarian services offered by them to the Egyptians and foreigners especially the poor who can not afford the price of treatment.
He further hoped that Al Azhar's hospitals become a model for other hospitals in the region.
