The Zayed Giving Initiative has intensified its humanitarian mission in Sudanese villages, under the supervision of an Emirati-Sudanese medical team, through an annual programme that aims to provide the best treatment, diagnostic and prevention services to unprivileged people.
These efforts are in line with the directives of the wise leadership under the #Year_of_Giving, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in co-ordination with the Sudanese Volunteer Centre and ministries of health and social security, and participation of Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Society, Sharjah Charity House, the Saudi-German Hospital, and UAE Societal Voluntary Programme.
The initiative aimed at activating and motivating the humanitarian partnership and joint work between the UAE and Sudan health, voluntary, and humanitarian institutions, to reach thousands of children and elderly in various Sudanese villages. This reflects the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and promotes joint volunteer work among medical staff.
The initiative, which aimed at providing medical treatment for one million children and elderly people, is deemed the first of its kind around the world. During the past 17 years, the initiative was able to reach out to millions of people in various countries across the globe.
Sudanese Minister of Welfare and Social Security, Mashair Al Dawalab, thanked the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on the humanitarian initiatives that are being implemented to treat underprivileged people around the world.
Minister Al Dawalab praised UAE's efforts in the field of treatment and prevention of heart diseases and the adoption of health initiatives.
