Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hneifat on Thursday briefed UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi on measures taken by Jordan to ensure safety of its agricultural products.
The two ministers also discussed the possibility of exporting Jordanian sheep to the UAE, in light of the closure of the Jordanian borders with Syria and Iraq.
Hneifat noted the actions taken by the government, which included an ecosystem of measures that will need three months to be completed. The government, he added, is installing two devices to inspect the level of pesticides in products. Further, the government conducted maintenance for several devices to conduct random inspections on agricultural products, the minister said.
