Reem Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, SCMC, has re-affirmed that the wise leadership of the UAE is keen to provide all means of support to women and children in order for them to receive their rights in education and health, and to enjoy a stable life.
Following her participation at the Every Woman, Every Child, EWEC, initiative held in New York under the Chairmanship of Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, Al Falasi said that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, GWU, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, FDF, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, stands alongside UAE women and provide them with the opportunity to take care of their children and prepare them for the future.
At a meeting held in conjunction with the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, Al Falasi discussed the Every Woman, Every Child initiative in the context of sustainable development and health objectives.
The meeting addressed how the members of the High-level Steering Group for the UN partnership could be used to support the priorities of the UN Secretary-General on the agenda of the peace and security conference, using health and empowerment as a conference entry point.
The initiative is an unprecedented global movement that mobilises and intensifies international and national action by governments, multilaterals, private sector and civil society to address the major health challenges facing women, children and adolescents around the world.
