Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, faces new accusations in two cases. Netanyahu is set to be questioned by police for a third time later this week.
One case deals with what is being referred to as the ‘submarine affair’, in which Netanyahu’s personal lawyer, David Shimron, is suspected of having a possible conflict of interest in representing German shipbuilder, Thyssenkrup, while it was selling naval vessels to Israel.
The new cases bring the total number of investigations against the Prime Minister to four.
According to unnamed sources, senior officials in the police claim that close connections to Netanyahu are trying to reach out to the leaders of the Police Investigation Division, led by Major-General Roni Ritman, through social networks and journalists.
