The Cairo Criminal Court under counselor Hassan Farid decided during a session Tuesday to adjourn to next Tuesday the trial 67 elements affiliated to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood in the case of assassinating prosecutor general Hisham Barakat.
The postponement aimed at resuming hearing the testimonies of the witnesses and to summon a witness who was absent without permission.
Some 51 are detained pending investigation in the case while 16 are still at large.
Hisham Barakat died in hospital after a bomb attack on his car in the Cairo suburb of Heliopolis in June 2015.
Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq had referred the defendants to the criminal court to stand trial over the assassination of Barakat.
