Supply and Internal Trade Minister Khaled Hanafy will head for Washington Tuesday upon an invitation from the World Bank to explain Egypt's successful experiment in bread and supply commodities system.
In a statement Monday, the Ministry said that Hanafy will pay a visit to the innovation valley in San Francisco and will hold meetings with chief of Visa international company and a number of chiefs of companies operating in the use of smart cards and IT.
The World Bank got acquainted with Egypt's experiment in bread and supply commodities system through a research team, who hailed the success of the experiment.
The team said that the new bread system contributed to eliminating the bread crisis that once prompted long queues outside bakeries across the country.
