Sudanese Minister of Welfare and Social Security Mashayer al Dawalab headed Sunday for Cairo.
Dawalab will lead her country's delegation to the two-day High-Level Arab Conference on "progress in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration".
The conference will kick off Monday at the invitation of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Arab League and the United Nations Women, the minister said before leaving Khartoum.
The conference aims to review the progress made in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and adopt a final document that reaffirms these principles and reinforces the empowerment of women and girls, she added.
