Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir plans to visit Egypt, following the end of the recovery period from knee surgery, said Sudanese Investment Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail.
The visit paid by Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Khartoum recently was positive at all levels and contributed to further boosting bilateral ties in the various spheres, added the minister in an interview conducted Sunday with representatives of several Egyptian private and national newspapers along with MENA, who are currently visiting Khartoum.
The minister, meanwhile, said that the higher Egyptian-Sudanese committee will be convened soon under Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Sudanese Vice President Bakry Hassan Saleh along with a host of ministers from the two countries.
He termed ties between people of Egypt and Sudan as "eternal" that do not change with the change of regimes and governments.
The minister further said that the recent opening of the Qastal-Ashkiet ground crossing on the Egyptian-Sudanese borders will contribute to increasing trade movement between the two countries.
Regarding the disputed border region of the Halayeb-Shalateen Triangle, Ismail said that the presidents of Egypt and Sudan are capable of solving this matter by dialogue.
It is important to solve this matter through the presidents of Egypt and Sudan and not through media outlets, which treat the issue without objectivity, he added.
Talking about the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the minister said that building trust is something which is important among the countries, adding that the Egyptian president succeeded in doing so during his meeting with the Ethiopian prime minister on the sidelines of the African summit in Malabo.
