President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa coming from the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
During his two-day visit, President Sisi will meet with his Ethiopian counterpart Mulatu Teshome and Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on means to cement cooperation between the two countries along with regional and African issues and efforts to confront terrorism.
President Sisi was received at the airport by the Ethiopian prime minister who was keen on leaving Khartoum earlier to receive the president at Addis Ababa airport.
The president will meet with the patriarch of the Ethiopian church and give a speech at the Ethiopian parliament considered by Egypt's ambassador to Ethiopia Mohamed Idris as a message from the Egyptian people to the Ethiopian people on the importance of deepening ties between the two countries.
A tripartite summit was held earlier in the day by President Sisi and Sudanese President Omar el Bashir and the Ethiopian prime minister where the three leaders reached a declaration of principles on Nile water.
