President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday attended the inauguration ceremony of the first National Youth Conference.
The event is held in implementation of an initiative that was launched by the president on the Egyptian Youth Day on January 9th.
Several top-ranking officials attended the opening ceremony including Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb and Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese along with Presidential Adviser for National Projects Ibrahim Mahlab.
Attending also were the ministers of defense, youth, foreign affairs, interior, awqaf, planning, electricity, education, culture and public business sector.
Present also at the ceremony were former prime minister Kamal el Ganzouri and other senior officials.
The conference is held under the theme "Innovate..Advance" and focuses on an array of education-related issues.
The three-day conference is held under the aegis of president Sisi.
The second session of convention is held under the theme "Youth Vision of Linking Education System with the Labor Market".
A workshop titled "Education and Scientific Research" will be held on the fringe of the conference.
The workshop involves four sessions:
1- "Blended Learning: A New Vision of the Egyptian Education".
2- "The Future of Technical Education in Egypt".
3- "Proposals for the Development of Cultural Exchanges and Missions".
4- "Youth Vision of the Development of Scientific Research System".
The conference brings together 3,000 young people. A large number of businessmen, public personalities, as well as governors and ministers also participate in the event.
At the beginning of the conference, several young people expounded how the conference was planned and organized.
They explained that the Presidential Leadership Program has very much contributed to grooming many Egyptian young people.
The preparation for the conference is an achievement per se for the Egyptian youth, they added.
The preparation for the conference included assigning groups for ushering the guests and participants and other groups for outlining research papers on issues of interest to the society along with groups for assessing the quality of these research papers.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced launching the activities of the first National Youth Conference.
He noted that the conference will be officially held on annual basis at this time.
The president also asked the participants to stand in a minute of silence in mourning of the martyrs of Egypt who fell victim to terrorism for the sake of the country.
The national anthem was played and the president left the conference hall.
