Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), along with the German President HE Christian Wulff, witnessed this morning the signing of a cooperation agreement between QF and Siemens AG. The agreement was signed for QF by HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al -Thani, QF Deputy Chairperson, and for Siemens AG by its President and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Loscher. Speaking on the occasion, HH Sheikha Moza said QF's mission is expanding the nation's human capabilities besides promoting the values of education, technology and society in order to take part in the process of transformation to a Knowledge-based Economy. For his part, Tidu Maini, Science and Technology Park (QSTP) Executive President underlined the importance of building up partnerships which relies on a solid base of shared values and the highest degree of integrity. While, Siemens President and CEO, Peter Loscher said Qatar has been always the focus of Siemens' attention in the Middle East, expressing delight to establish this partnership to help build the necessary infrastructure and knowledge bases that will not only serve Qatar's interest but also all states in the region. In similar statements, Martin A Porta, CEO of Siemens WLL in Qatar said that promoting the sustainable country programs is a shared responsibility among government and private sector, expressing pleasure to be partners with QF on such important task. While; Joachim Kundt; the Chief Executive Officer of Siemens LLC, the regional arm of Siemens AG for the Gulf region, said this partnership will further develop the local expertise required to establish a world class infrastructure in order to meet Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030' s principles. According to the agreement, Siemens will establish a major service center for the company's business in the field of transport and energy distribution in the region. Siemens will also develop the regional competitive center for rail transport in Qatar.
