Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on Monday called for the protection of children to be strengthened during a visit to Hamdan bin Zayed School in Abu Dhabi.
The success of any nation depended on the proper upbringing of young people, he said, and that the community and institutions should work together to ensure this.
Sheikh Saif toured the school's facilities and laboratories, and met pupils in a music class. He praised awareness campaigns from the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) that engaged parents and encouraged them to support their children's innovative efforts.
President Sheikh Khalifa, he noted, had called for "dedicating attention to innovators by helping them overcome potential obstacles” so they can elevate the UAE through advanced scientific schools.
"The diligent commitment from the various educational entities to advance education and protect the youth is a true reflection of the wise approach envisioned by our government, always looking forward to the future, to cater to the needs of its sons and daughters and to find innovative solutions to potential challenges,” said Sheikh Saif.
Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, director general of Adec, accompanied Sheikh Saif on the tour.
