H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday visited the Museum of Islamic Art (Museum fur Islamische Kunst), which is situated in the south wing of the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany.
During his tour in the museum, Sheikh Sultan was received by Dr. Stefan Weber, Director of the Museum of Islamic Art. Weber briefed the Sharjah Ruler on the contents of Islamic civilisations from east of Samarkand to the far west to Andalusia civilisation.
Dr. Weber briefed the Sharjah Ruler about the Museum which was established in 1904. It contains diverse collection of Islamic art .
Sheikh Sultan toured the museum's facilities and components which represent a number of Islamic cities. During his tour in the museum, Sheikh Sultan was accompanied by Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information and other officials.
