A Shoura Council delegation will take part in the 25th emergency session of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) to discuss Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, scheduled for Thursday in Rabat, Morocco, the Saudi Press Agency said.
The delegation is headed by the council’s speaker, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh. In this context, Al Al-Sheikh said continued Israeli aggression against Al-Quds necessitates a united Arab and Islamic stance in sending a message that rejects Israeli intransigence and unfair closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which reflects the ugliest forms of systematic terrorism.
He said the aggression in Al-Quds and against worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque proves Israeli intransigence in finding just solutions which will ensure a decent life for the Palestinian people, and tests the seriousness of the international community in curbing repeated Israeli aggression.
Israeli expansion and deepening settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands, including Al-Quds, and the displacement and forcible expulsion of the Palestinian people from their houses are meant to drive them from the holy city, he said.
He called on the APU and other Arab and Islamic parliaments to intensify efforts in parliamentary gatherings to expose the volume of damage and harm arising from the Israeli aggression at Al-Aqsa Mosque and on the Palestinian people.
He stressed that parliamentary diplomacy is one of the major drivers which can have a positive influence on the international community.
