Saudi Arabia\'s Mufti Sheikh Abdel Aziz Abdullah al-Shaikh called on Egypt\'s wise people and thinkers to cooperate to defuse the crisis in the country in a rational and reasonable way so as to avert the threat of bloodshed and protect the nation from plunging into chaos. The true believer in God is the one who always cares about others and works to serve their good, away from any disunity and discord, he said. \"Have faith in God and promptly work to protect your society, your creed and your nation, the beloved Egypt, the fountainhead of knowledge and civilization and goodness,\" he said, addressing all parties to the political turmoil simmering in Egypt. \"I warn you against being blinded by your own narrow personal interests and ideologies and I appeal to you to sit together and iron out your differences so as to prevent any harm to your country,\" he said. \"Be united, speak together in one voice, resolve your differences and act fairly so as to fend your nation against evil,\" he went on to say. \"I pray to God to save Egypt from ruin and guide its sane and wise people to the right path,\" he said.
