H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, opened officially in a ceremony, a new National Archives Building in Fustat city, Egypt, in the presence of Egypt's Prime Minister, Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, yesterday afternoon.
Sheikh Sultan said Egypt's President Abel Fatah el-Sisi salvaged Egypt to safeguard its achievements, adding that Egypt needs men of his calibre to lead it in the development process.
He recalled the incident when Egypt's Scientific Complex got burnt, adding that he was touched and sad to see the books burning. Sheikh Sultan said he decided to visit Egypt at the invitation of the former Egyptian Minister of Culture, Dr. Mohammed Saber Arab. The Ruler of Sharjah pledged to rebuild the complex and supply it with new books and whatever was lost in the fire incident.
Sheikh Sultan referred to the critical role of Egypt in the region, recalling its support to the development of the region.
The event was attended by Egypt's Prime Minister, the UAE State Minister Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Egyptian ministers, UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri and other senior officials.
