On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, HRH Princess Dina Mired, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), visited the pediatric department of the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) today to distribute gifts to young patients receiving treatment in the presence of pediatric department Chairman, Dr. Iyad Sultan and Section of Pediatrics Intensive Care Chief, Dr. Nesreen Faqih. The gift distribution ceremony is part of KHCF’s Dreams Come True Program, and has become an annual tradition at KHCC. Stemming from the belief that granting gifts to young patients and drawing smiles on their faces is a very important factor to their overall healing process, it constitutes an integral part in the psychological and spiritual support they need through their different and lengthy treatment stages. While distributing gifts, Princess Dina Mired also checked on the health of the patients at the Center and listened to a briefing from supervising doctors about their condition and treatment and showed appreciation to the efforts of KHCC doctors and employees. Reiterating her joy at distributing gifts to the patients every year, Princess Dina Mired said “Seeing the smile on the faces of our patients when they receive a gift is such an important step in the healing process for them. We are happy to consider this part of the quality comprehensive care that we provide at King Hussein Cancer Center. Our wish for every day is for every single patient to achieve a full recovery.” The patients and their families expressed their appreciation for Her Royal Highness’s visit and for bringing much-needed relief, laughter and smiles to the KHCC pediatric department.
