Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman held talks with National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Bai Omera D. Dianalan Lucman at his office here Tuesday. According to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Salman and Lucman discussed issues of mutual concern. There are an estimated five million Muslims in the Philippines. The NCMF, tasked to promote the empowerment of Muslims and their welfare, has unveiled a 5-year strategic development plan to enhance and preserve the Islamic cultural heritage and to complement the administration's thrust for peace and development. The NCMF, created by Republic Act 9997, is mandated to preserve and develop the culture, tradition, institutions, and well-being of Muslim Filipinos, in conformity with the country's laws and in consonance with national unity and development.
