Prime Minister Sherif Ismail had a meeting Wednesday with Local Development Minister Zaki Badr and Sharqiyah Governor Khalid Saeed on the development and services projects carried out in Sharqiyah governorate.
In statements, Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Hossam el Qaweesh said that Ismail stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the state executive bodies and members of the parliament to follow up the implementation of national projects that aim at pushing forward the development process, improving services offered for citizens and creating new jobs.
For his part, the Sharqiyah Governor said that a number of projects in the drinking water, sanitation, roads & bridges and housing sectors were completed in the governorate.
A project on the expansion of Abo Shalabi/Faqous water plant was finalized at a total cost of 356 million pounds, Saeed said.
He added that 23,000 housing units at a cost of 29 million pounds were handed over in Sharqiya's Heya city.
