HE Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani inaugurated on Thursday Police College in Al Sailiya area.
The opening ceremony started with the national anthem, followed by a speech delivered by Director General of the Police College Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhana Al Marri in which he said that the launch of the college is another national achievement to be added to other great accomplishments made by Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
He added following the Emiri Decree No. (161) for the year 2013 efforts continued to launch the college, adding that the dream has come true as this academic entity was launched to graduate qualified military cadres to serve and secure the nation to contribute to its development.
The academic activities of the Police College had started before one year, as the first batch students were admitted last year with 115 Qatari students and 23 from other GCC and Arab countries, he said.
Several events were held on the occasion, including the military parade performed by the college students.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by many dignitaries including ministers, delegations from other countries, officers from Qatari Armed Force and other security agencies, department directors and military and civil officers.
