Patriarch Gregory III Laham, Patriarch of Antioch and Alexandria and Jerusalem for Roman Melkite Catholics, on Monday called on the world to stop terrorist bombings in Syria. In a statement, Patriarch Laham stressed that the world is invited to "a march for peace to restore security and safety to the Syrian citizen at school, university, work and home." The Patriarch called on heads of the world states to listen to the voice of Jesus Christ saying "Blessed be those who make peace." He called on all Syrians to embrace unity, amity and reconciliation as the homeland is for all people and all people are responsible for its future. Syria scholars and preachers condemned the terrorist explosion that targeted the innocents, Ba'aira Mosque, claiming the lives of scores of martyrs and injuring tens others, affirming that the takfiri and dark mentality which allows to kill innocents will be inevitably defeated. "Today's explosion is an attack on the God's sanctities and the recommendations of Prophet Mohammad PBUH.. Islam is innocent from all terrorist acts which target the peace of the homeland and security of citizens," the scholars said in a statement.
