Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said Friday he would postpone his visit to Kuwait, scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, because of the state of mourning following King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia's demise.
The visit has been postponed because Palestine and Kuwait announced an official mourning following the death of King Abdullah, the Palestinian Prime Minister's office said in a statement.
It mourned the late Saudi Monarch, and commended his solid support of the Palestinian cause and Palestinian people.
Hamdallah was scheduled to discuss with the Kuwaiti officials the reconstruction of Gaza Strip, the support of occupied Jerusalem and the Palestinian government's financial troubles caused by the Israeli blocking of Palestinian tax money.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Hamas movement extended deepest condolences for the passing away of King Abdullah.
Hamas, in a statement, praised the deceased strong support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
Hamas deputy politburo chief Ismail Haniya said King Abdullah had great endeavors in the Palestinian reconciliation, reconstruction of Gaza and supporting Jerusalem.
