Indian badminton star PV Sindhu may have lost another chance to win a gold medal at the highest level, but her superb skills and incredible fighting spirit won the hearts of a billion people.
Sindhu lost an epic World Badminton Championships final to Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-19 20-22 22-20 in what was the longest match of the tournament.
After the dramatic one-hour-49-minute battle left Sindhu, who had lost the Rio Olympics final to Carolina Marin last year, with a broken heart, the TV commentator had no doubt on her mind that it was one of the greatest matches in the history of the world badminton championships.
