Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday highlighted his dreams of bringing about progress to India, especially to the poor in the country, and vowed to turn the image of India from "scam" to "skill".
In his first address to the Parliament, Modi said the priority is to help the poor in the country, while working for development to all sections of India, including the Muslim community.
He promised to cooperate with all political parties and state governments to make the country prosperous and powerful.
Among the major fields he would work on are agriculture and infrastructures, he said.
He said his government would make sure that nobody is without a house with water, electricity and toilet by 2022, when the country celebrates its 75th year of Independence.
"We can bring about change," he said, while emphasizing that all Indians are on equal foot for development.
"If one organ of the body remains weak, the body cannot be termed as healthy," he said.
