The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been following on the assassination of Lebanese businessman, Amine Bakri (born in 1961) who hails from Sir el-Gharbieh of Nabatieh, South Lebanon. Unknown persons had opened fire in his direction two days ago in the Angolan capital, Luanda, causing his death.
General Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Haytham Joumaa, and Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon in South Africa, accredited to Angola, Ara Khatchaturian, have been following up on the matter on the behest of the Ministry.
Head of the Angolan delegation, Mohammad Nisr, is following up on the file with the Angolan security authorities with the aim of starting the necessary investigations to discover the identity of the perpetrators.
Prime Minister Saad Hariri has also tasked Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil by telephone to intensify contacts with the concerned authorities so as to speed up investigations and prosecute the perpetrators.
