President Moncef Marzouki chaired on Sunday evening at the Okba Ibn Nafaa mosque in Kairouan, a religious ceremony on the night of destiny. Religious Affairs Minister Noureddine El Khadmi estimated on the occasion that killing a person is a crime and a serious sin in Islam, calling for the need to finish off the transition phase with less damage by making the notion of unity prevail. During the ceremony, which was attended by several government members, religious officials and the faithful, prizes were awarded to the laureates of the annual Koran memorisation and recitation contest.
