Caretaker President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki highlighted on Tuesday, the role of the Scout Movement in the development and reform process as well as in the emergence of generations attached to the value of labour and construction. \"In this delicate phase the country is going through, the will of the young scouts leaves us no alternative but to move forward on the path of the completion of the democratic process and the establishment of a consensus which pledges all the Tunisians,\" Marzouki said at the opening of the 19th Arab Jamboree held in Borj Cedria. In this connection, he voiced hope to see in Tunisia a climate of understanding and peace established which favours the setting up of a state of democracy, freedom, dignity and justice, underlining, in the same context \"the urgent need to a revolution of values and rehabilitation of the principles of Arabism and Islam.\" According to the Official Jamboree spokesman Faouzi Zarï, this meeting aims to strengthen ties of fraternity between Arab youths and think together on the future of their homelands. To take part in this event held on August 19-28, in the Borj Cedria International Scout Centre, some 520 Arab scouts from Qatar, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The agenda includes volunteer activities, cultural events and excursions.
