Mark Lukas Pey assumed charge as the new country manager for Lufthansa German Airlines in Saudi Arabia on Sept. 1.
With over 20 years’ expertise in the airline industry, Pey leads the team to strengthen its presence in the Kingdom by growing sales and providing convenient as well as efficient service to customers.
Prior to his new role in Saudi Arabia, Pey held the post of head of Gulf and Pakistan for Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), one of the Lufthansa Group’s airline subsidiaries, based in Dubai. He moved to the GCC in 2011 as country manager for Oman for SWISS & Lufthansa.
“We welcome Mark Pey as our new country manager for Saudi Arabia. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the airline industry as well as familiarity in the market. With him onboard, our customers in the Kingdom will have a more personalized experience while our team gets a fresh perspective in providing world-class service Lufthansa is known for,” said Karsten Zang, senior director Gulf, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
During his initial days in the Kingdom, Zang together with Pey and Lufthansa’s account managers met with the major travel agents in Riyadh, Jeddah as well as Bahrain, which are under Pey’s new responsibilities.
“Saudi Arabia is an important market for Lufthansa and we are always looking at ways on how to raise the bar further when it comes to product offerings and service to customers. With the roll out of our new and refreshed products like First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy as well as our exclusive lounges at our hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, we are in a better position to deliver excellent service from the time a flight is booked until the passenger arrives to final destination,” Pey added.
