President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia and her accompanying delegation on Thursday visited the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) on Thursday and toured it and was briefed on the contents of the MIA which is dedicated to reflect the full vitality, complexity and diversity of the arts of the Islamic world including manuscripts and metal , glass , ivory and wooden artifacts and others from the precious stones which have been collected from the three continents and other middle eastern states down to countries such as Spain and India. The MIA contents reflect the period extending from the 7th and the 20th Centuries. Following the tour Liberian president signed in the honorary record of the MIA highlighting the contents of the MIA describing these collections as a wealth to the islamic culture and heritage. At the end of the tour , Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud , the adviser to Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Museums Authority presented the Liberian president with a copy of the book explaining the museum landmarks and its design features and the most valuables of its contents. During the tour the Liberian president was escorted by HE Dr. Abdullah Saleh Mubarak Al Khulaifi, the Minister Of Labour And Social Affairs , HE Mohamed Ismail Al-Emadi and HE Ambassador of Liberia to Qatar Ibrahim K Naye. President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia has earlier left Doha before earlier Thursday winding up a three-day state visit to Qatar.
