Director-General of the Gendarmerie Department Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, on Tuesday met with Kuwaiti ambassador, Hamad Al-Duaij, and discussed prospects for boosting cooperation between the Gendarmerie and Kuwaiti security and military institutions.
Hawatmeh said his security agency, upon the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the supreme commander of the armed forces, had achieved an advanced level in professional security work and had gained a good reputation, regionally and internationally.
He said the gendarmerie would put its capabilities at the disposal of “the brothers in Kuwait”, and help the Kuwait National Guard to join the Association of the European and Mediterranean Police Forces and Gendarmeries, which Hawatmeh currently chairs.
The envoy praised the high level the Jordanian gendarmerie had reached, stressing the importance of cooperation and coordination between the security force and its Kuwaiti peers, mainly the exchange of expertise and building their capacity.
