His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolences to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on the demise of late king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. In his cable, His Highness the Amir expressed his and Kuwaiti people's deep sorrow for the death of late King Abdullah and sent sincere condolences to Saudi King Sheikh Salman, his brothers, the Saudi royal family and the whole Saudi people.
"With the death of late King Abdullah, the world has lost one of its great men and the Gulf, Arab and Muslim nations lost an outstanding leader and strong symbol who dedicated his life to serve his country and people and to defend the causes of his country, Arab and Muslim nations," His Highness the Amir said.
His Highness the Amir added that the late Saudi King "was a living example of wisdom, sagaciousness and devotion".
His Highness the Amir noted that he has lost with the death of late king Abdullah a dear brother, a close friend and a companion with him he shared burdens and responsibilities.
His Highness Sheikh Sabah stated that the Saudi Kingdom has achieved a comprehensive renaissance under late king Abdullah.
He added that the Kuwaiti leadership and people would always remember with a sense of pride the great and supportive stances of the late king towards Kuwait, especially his stances during the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait, his care of Kuwaitis who fled to the Kingdom during that period and the Saudi Arabia's massive contributions to the Kuwait liberation operation.
His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless the soul of the late king with mercy in Paradise and to bring solace to the Saudi royal family and people.
His Highness the Amir wished wellbeing and success for the new King, Salman bin Abdulaziz, in continuing the Kingdom's progress march.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables of condolences to the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
